Our Mission
BENNU Legal Services is an innovative nonprofit Supporting American Dreams. Operating within existing law, we provide low-cost legal aid and education to help families and individuals new to the United States to integrate. Through our services, we also support small business entrepreneurs and help address important issues such as domestic violence.
Our History
BENNU Legal Services NFP is a nonprofit agency Supporting American
Dreams. The agency provides legal aid to newcomers to the United States,
helping them with legal immigration and with integration. The agency
helps the underserved and underprivileged on a sliding-scale fee basis
that takes into account family size and income. In this way, quality
legal help becomes affordable to many, and cases are often handled on a
"low bono" or pro-bono basis. BENNU also provides support to small
businesses to build stronger and healthier communities.
In addition to legal aid and support, BENNU’s mission is educational.
The agency provides legal information and trainings in many forms, from
seminars and one-on-one consultations to distribution of pamphlets about
key constitutional rights and responsibilities. BENNU also creates and
delivers programs to help others develop important business, office and
legal skills and experience. These often allow them to qualify for a
larger number of job opportunities or promotions.
The legendary BENNU bird is the Egyptian phoenix. The phoenix has long
represented new beginnings, a very fitting symbol for an agency
Supporting American Dreams.
